Self Photos / Files - JennyLeeJenny Lee is the Founder and Principal of the Silver Academy of Music (SAM), winner of the Hong Kong Most Outstanding Services Award for “Best Music Academy”. In the past six years, students at SAM have won as many as 88 awards with 90% of them achieving excellent results for their ABRSM exams, and she won 10 “Best Teacher Awards”. With her interests in yoga and meditation, she creates a new pedagogy at SAM, called Body. Mind. Music

 

She is also a Sound Healer. In energy healing, she uses Crystal Singing Bowls at the core, intuitively combining with Reiki, yoga, meditation, crystals, aromatherapy, angel cards and classical music, to adjust energy and heal wounds, so that they can feel love, joy and inner peace. She has certificates in crystal singing bowl sound healing and Reiki.

 

Jenny is passionate in music education, and has taught at all levels, from kindergarten in the UK, to HKADC’s ‘AAiSS’, to bachelor degree on piano performance and postgraduate diploma on intergrated arts. She is now a mentor at EduHK, often gives talks in schools, was the judge on HKIMAA music competition, and columnist for magazine “Music and Story” and online magazine “Interlude”.

 

Previously as a Bilingual Presenter / Producer on RTHK Radio 4, she won the "World Bronze Medal" at the New York Festival, "Top 10 Most Favourite English Programme", and "Top 10 Most Favourite English Presenter". Simultaneously, she worked closely with RTHK TV as a Programme Advisor and an interviewer in English and Mandarin. She was also awarded the WKCDA fellowship to enter HKU and UK Clore's Advanced Cultural Leadership Programme, after which she founded an NGO, The Silver Club, to bring students to serve the elderlies through the arts. After RTHK, she successfully fundraised and did marketing for the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, which is now the Discount Partner of SAM.

 

As an artist, she has been MC, reciter / storyteller, speaker, interviewer, Music Director for stage, actress and dancer, winning great acclaim. She collaborated with organizations like HAB, LCSD and all major arts organizations such as WDCDA, HKADC, HKAF, HK Phil, CCOHK, OperaHK, PPHK, Fringe Club, Asia Society, HKAAA, HKNME, AFTEC etc. She also collaborated with pianists Julie Kuok, Hui Ling and Dr. Helen Cha, conductor Prof Chan Wing Wah, composer Dr. Mui Kwong Chiu and Dr. Tang Lok Yin, and King’s Harmonica Quintet on various multimedia concerts. At leisure, she plays the Chinese instrument, Qin, with which she performed in China and featured in documentaries. She also won First Prize in a singing competition as a duet in Cantonese opera, “The Death of the Princess”.

 

Having graduated with a First Hons and Adam Undergraduate Prize from King's College London (Music), she gained a Master at the Royal Academy of Music in London, learning piano from the “Poet of the Piano” Fu T’song’s wife - Patsy Toh, Aaron Shorr and Daniel-Ben Pienaar. As a pianist, she performed extensively in the UK. She has been listed on HK Gov’s ‘Central Personality Index’ since 2007 and served on various Government’s boards.
